BBC Lifestyle – Come Dine With Me SA S10 Competition – (the “Competition”)
Terms and Conditions
- The BBC Code of Conduct (the “Code”) for competitions can be found at https://www.bbc.com/editorialguidelines/guidance/code-of-conduct and all BBC Studios Limited (“BBCSD”) promotions comply with the Code.
- The Competition opens on 3 March 2025 at 09:00am South African time and closing at 23:59 on 23 May 2025. The Competition will be hosted on the BBCSD dedicated webpage accessible at the following url address https://www.bbcafricachannels.com/cdwmsa-s10-competition and will be promoted on BBC Lifestyle channel in South Africa as well as on the BBCSD social media pages on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
- The Competition is open to all residents of South Africa aged 18 years or over except employees of BBCSD and their subsidiaries, agencies, members of their families and anyone professionally associated with the Competition (“Entrants”).
- By entering the Competition, the Entrants agree:
- to be bound by these Terms and Conditions;
- that their name & surname and county of residence may be released on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter if they win a prize;
- that should they win the Competition, their name and likeness may be used by BBC Studios Africa and or its affiliated companies for promotional purposes.
- No purchase is necessary to enter.
- Two winners, every week for a period of 12 (twelve) weeks will be selected based on the criteria set out in clause 11. Each week a new multiple choice question relating to that week’s episode of the Season 10 of “Come Dine with me SA” broadcast on BBCSD’s channel known as BBC Lifestyle will be posted on the competition page.
- A new competition question will be posted every Monday at 14:00;
- The closing time to summit answer to a given week question is that week Friday at 23:59.
- Entrants should enter the competition by submitting their answers to the question posted for a given week on bbcafricachannel.com by 23:59 each Friday to stand a chance to win the Prize for that week (the “Closing Date”) .
- Only one (1) entry per week will be permitted per person regardless of method of entry and bulk entries (meaning the use of any form of technology which allows multiple simultaneous entries) will not be permitted. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed. No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered for any technical or other reason. Entries received after the Closing Date will not be considered.
- Entrants must supply to BBCSD their full name, email address, contact number and province name. BBCSD will only ever use Entrant’s personal details in accordance with the BBC Studios Privacy Policy at https://www.bbcstudios.com/privacy.
- Entrants data will be collected and used only for the purposes of administration of this competition and the Winners name may be published on Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter.
- Entrants are required to submit their answers to a multiple question that will be posted every week. Two winners will be selected each week over a period of 12 (twelve) weeks thus there will be a total of 24 (twenty four) winners. Winners will be selected randomly using a dedicated computer programme.
- The prize for this Competition is provided by McCain which is the Competition’s sponsor.BBCSD will be Grocery Voucher to each Winner for a value of R5 000 (five thousand South African Rand) (the “Prize”).
- The winner will be notified each week by email within 5 business days of the closing date each week, with the last winner being notified by the 28th May 2024. If the winner(s) is unable to be contacted within one calendar month of the Closing Date of the Competition, BBC Studios Africa reserves the right to offer the Prize to a runner-up, or to re-offer the Prize in any future BBC Studios Africa competition or to dispose of the prize at its own discretion.
- On successful contact and confirmation with the winner(s) BBCSD will send the Prize(s) within 14 (fourteen) working days to the winner(s) by email or courier. BBCSD will not be liable for any disruption, delay, strike action or incorrect delivery by any postal or courier service or if incorrect details are provided.
- There is no cash alternative and the prizes will not be transferable. Prizes must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. If a prize must be taken on a specific date and the Winner is unable to attend on that day, BBCSD reserves the right to offer the prize to a runner up or to re-offer the prize in any future BBCSD promotion competition or to dispose of the prize at its own discretion. BBCSD accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the prizes and not specifically included/ stated. If any prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, BBCSD reserves the right to substitute the prize for another prize of equal or greater value.
- Any promotional activity or press release any winner makes in relation to the Competition must be pre-approved by BBCSD in writing.
- BBCSD excludes liability to the full extent permitted by law for any loss, damage or injury occurring to the participant arising from his or her entry into the Competition or occurring to the winner(s) arising from his or her acceptance of a prize.

- Printing, spelling, typesetting or similar errors in these Terms and Conditions and/or any other documentation related to the Competition cannot be invoked against BBCSD and cannot, in any way, establish binding obligations for BBCSD.
- Entry into the Competition is acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
- BBCSD reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or to cancel, alter or amend the Competition or the Prize at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of its control.
- The Competition is subject to the laws of South Africa. In terms of the Consumer Protection Act the promotional competitions conducted within (1) SA and (2) by a promoter based in SA are subject to the CPA.
